Beatrice borrowed the monarch’s Queen Mary Fringe Tiara she wore during her wedding to Prince Philip in 1947 for her wedding to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi last year. The York royal is only the second family member to wear the Queen’s heirloom, with Princess Anne being the first.
The Queen Mary fringe was originally commissioned by Queen Mary, using diamonds gifted to her by Queen Victoria, in 1919.
E. Wolff and Co made the piece, which features diamond bars separated by smaller diamond spikes.
Queen Mary gave the piece to the Queen Mother in 1936, before it became the then-Princess Elizabeth’s to wear on her wedding day.
On the morning of the future monarchs wedding however, disaster struck when the tiara snapped in half just two hours before the ceremony.

The Royal Insider Youtube channel said the event caused Queen Elizabeth II “great stress”.
A narrator said: “Unfortunately, things didn’t go smoothly on the morning of their big day and there was a disaster with the tiara.
“Just two hours before the wedding was due to start, the tiara snapped in half as the hairdresser was fixing Elizabeth’s veil.
“The Queen Mother managed to remain calm and reportedly reminded her upset daughter there are still two hours and there are other tiaras.
“The Royal Family’s jeweller was on standby just in case anything went wrong.
“The team frantically welded the piece back together and got back to the bride just in time for her to have it placed on her head.”

Since then, Anne wore the headpiece for her wedding to Captain Mark Phillips in 1973.
Beatrice also borrowed an Ivory Dress from the monarch, after her original plans for a wedding dress were axed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Beatrice’s vintage wedding gown was designed by Norman Hartnell, who created the Queen’s wedding dress and coronation gown.
Buckingham Palace revealed that the dress was remodelled and fitted for Beatrice by the Queen’s dresser Angela Kelly and dressmaker Stewart Parvin.
Beatrice said on Twitter, after the gown was put on display by the Royal Collection Trust: “It was an honour to wear my grandmother’s beautiful dress on my wedding day, I hope many of you are able to visit the exhibition which is still open at Windsor Castle.”
