However, the two royals are still in line to the throne, with Beatrice ninth and Eugenie tenth. This could eventually lead to the two sisters picking up full-time royal responsibilities according to their father the Duke of York, as quoted in a new book by author Sasha Swire from when the two met in 2011.
According to the Royal Family’s official website, the entire family conducts over 2,000 official engagements every year.
Prince Charles is said to have conducted over 500 engagements in 2018 alone.
The Queen was busy that year as well, carrying out as many as 283 UK-based engagements despite being around 92.
Younger senior royals such as Prince William and, formerly, Prince Harry, tend to have less work but they can still be required to do around 100 engagements per year.
Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie both have their own jobs
The 2018 figures were counted by royal fan Tim O’Donovan, whose work was subsequently published in The Times.
Currently though, neither Princess Beatrice, 31, nor Princess Eugenie, 30, are required to undertake any of the royal duties more senior royals have to.
Instead, the royal sisters have established lives of full-time education and relatively normal careers.
Princess Beatrice has attained a bachelor’s degree in History from the University of London, and today works in the finance and consulting industries.

Beatrice’s younger sister, Princess Eugenie, also maintains a full-time career outside of the royal family.
Princess Eugenie works for an art gallery in London
The 29-year-old is currently a director for art gallery Hauser & Wirth based on London’s Savile Row.
It is a role suited to her art history and English literature degrees – both of which she attained at Newcastle University after graduating in 2012.
At the gallery, Princess Eugenie spends time working on projects such as organising art fairs and events. She has also “built close relationships with a number of artists,” according to Hauser & Wirth.
