Princess Eugenie, 30, is extremely close to her big sister Princess Beatrice, 32, and growing up they were inseparable. Eugenie and her husband Jack are expecting their first child and when the royal baby arrives Eugenie could choose to make a sweet nod to her sister by naming the child after her.

What will Eugenie’s baby be called?

Princess Eugenie is unlikely to disclose her baby’s gender ahead of the birth as is usually the case for royal mothers.

However, if Eugenie has a girl she may pay tribute to her sister Beatrice by naming the baby after her.

Royal Family members usually have three first names and these are usually traditional Christian names which have been passed down the House of Windsor for decades.

As a non-working royal Eugenie is less bound by the restrictions more senior royal mother’s face.

This means she could choose to have a baby shower or even opt for a social media gender reveal.

The question of whether or not Eugenie might reveal the sex of her baby ahead of the birth was discussed by royal experts following her pregnancy announcement.

Speaking on ABC royal podcast The HeirPod earlier this year, expert Omid Scobie said: “I am still waiting for the day when we have our first royal Tiktok account. It’s got to happen at some point.”

Guest Maggie Rulli interjected: “Oooh who would be the first? I hope it’s the Queen.”

Omid said: “Listen, if Eugenie is listening, that is the place to do agender reveal – I am all for it.”

Maggie said: “I would watch that – I would definitely watch that.”
