Princess Eugenie, 30, and husband Jack Brooksbank, 34, announced they are expecting a baby just a few weeks before their second wedding anniversary. The couple are likely to choose a private London hospital for the birth and bookmakers have already compiled a list of possible names for the infant – from Alice and Alexander to Victoria and Arthur. But royal expert Omid Scobie believes Eugenie should be the first royal on TikTok and reveal the gender of the baby there.
Speaking on ABC’s Heirpod, commentator Maggie Rulli said: “You can’t imagine how much pressure and planning goes into a baby announcement these days on Instagram for a member of the Royal Family.
“It’s not your typical ‘let me just post a photo of my bump and call it a day’.”
Mr Scobie said: “Exactly. I am still waiting for the day we have our first royal TikTok account.
“If Eugenie is listening that is the best place to do a gender reveal. I’m all for it.”

Mr Scobie added that he believes a hidden fact in the Buckingham Palace statement means the baby will arrive “soon”.
He said: “The baby is due quite soon by the looks of it.
“We had the statement from Buckingham Palace just before we started to record this show.”
Buckingham Palace said in a short statement: “Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are very pleased to announce that they are expecting a baby in early 2021.
“Thrilled for them both and in my 60th year cannot wait to be a grandmother.
“Welcoming a new baby into the York family is going to be a moment of profound joy.”
The official Twitter account of the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall posted well-wishes for the couple: “Congratulations to HRH Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank!”
Eugenie’s parents, Andrew and Sarah, will become grandparents for the first time and the baby boy or girl will be born 11th in line to the throne.
William Hill has made the name Alice their favourite if the baby is a girl with odds of 8-1, and Alexander (10-1) if it is a boy.
