Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, 39, has received huge praise from royal fans in the wake of her latest virtual engagement. The Duchess spoke to NHS nurses at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust (UHCW), on a video call earlier in the week.
In the short video which is understood to have been filmed at the Queen’s Sandringham royal residence in Norfolk, Kate said: “You hear time and time again about the amazing things nurses up and down the country are doing, going that extra mile.”
The Duchess added: “And it’s the things that, you know, it’s not part of the training and the things that you’re taught but the things that come from your heart.
“And I think that’s what matters so much now, these acts of kindness to the patients you’re looking after, that are in your care, that family members aren’t able to be there, but you are going that extra mile and being there.”
Kensington Palace tweeted the clip of Kate’s latest video call with the message: “Nurses up and down the country are going that extra mile, at a time when patients need it the most.”

The message added: “These acts of courage, strength, and kindness matter so much right now & we owe you a huge thank you for all that you have done & continue to do throughout these difficult times.”
Kate wore a simple white shirt and black blazer in the video as she spoke from a sofa at Sandringham.
The Duchess’s latest appearance sparked a frenzied reaction from loving fans, many of whom commented on her “stunning” appearance.
One fan wrote: “Thank you to nurses everywhere for everything they are doing during this difficult time and thank you to the Duchess for reaching out to them and for supporting this profession!
“I’m sure those nurses will never forget this video chat.”
The added: “She will make a wonderful Queen Consort someday.”
Kate and Prince William have kept up with royal duties despite the current lockdown and carried out a string of virtual engagements in recent weeks.
The Cambridge family travelled to Norfolk before Christmas and are expected to remain there until schools reopen.
Prince George, seven, and Princess Charlotte, five are both pupils at Thomas’s Battersea but are currently being homeschooled by William and Kate.
