The Queen “allowed” Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, and Prince Harry to continue in their roles on her Commonwealth Trust (QCT) despite stepping down as senior royals. The Duke and Duchess’ jobs as President and Vice-President of QCT are the “only link” they have left to the Royal Family, according to experts. HeirPod host and ABC royal contributor Omid Scobie spoke about the likelihood of this arrangement changing in the upcoming spring review of the Megxit agreement.
He told listeners: “Think of how much has been achieved from the months since March to now.
“We’ve got the multi-year Spotify deal, we’ve got the production deal with Netflix.
“We’ve got the Archewell foundation where details have just come out now.
“The couple are really in their stride now despite the limitations of the pandemic.”

Mr Scobie continued: “Really the only link to the Royal Family that they have at the moment is the work they do with the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust.
“They do continue with their roles as President and Vice-President of the QCT, which, of course, the Queen is the head of.
“That’s something she is very happy with the work they’ve done there.
“They also have their royal patronages as well.”
The Sussexes had been hoping to continue much of their work from their time in the Royal Family after stepping back but had their ‘half in, half out’ model denied.
Instead, the couple completely stepped down from their senior royals, losing their HRH titles among other things.
Despite retaining involvement in the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust, Meghan and Harry are not able to formally carry out ‘official duties’ for the Queen or represent the Commonwealth.
In a statement in January, the monarch described the conclusion of the discussions as a “constructive and supportive way forward” for her grandson and his family.
She also wished the Duke and Duchess the best in “starting to build a happy and peaceful new life”.
