The Queen’s baubles on her Christmas trees have been praised as “fabulous” by excited royal commentators. The monarch had gathered with many other members of the Royal Family outside Windsor Castle to thank local volunteers and key workers at the end of Prince William and Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge’s tour of Britain. HeirPod hosts Omid Scobie and Maggie Rulli noticed a new detail from the pictures released from the event.

Mr Scobie told listeners: “On a slight side note, I zoomed in on the main photo outside.

“I found that the little Christmas trees in the background all have crowns as their baubles.

“That is probably the strongest flex I have seen in a while.”

He added that similar decorations could likely be purchased online.

Ms Rulli said: “That’s so true. Wow, I need to redo my Christmas tree now.

“That is fantastic, I absolutely love that.

“It’s as if she’s saying, ‘just in case you forgot, I’m the Queen, thank you’.

“I love that detail, that is fabulous.”

Discussing the event, Mr Scobie said: “We had no Trooping the Colour balcony moment, that’s usually our sort of one annual look at all the royals together.

“Then we usually have something a little more intimate at Christmas time when all the family members gather at Sandringham.

“Of course, neither of those things happened or are happening this year.

“So to have them all standing outside Windsor Castle for that photo was kind of the one thing for the year.

“If there was any time to do it, this was it, this was the only chance.”
