Queen’s Platinum Jubilee to make ‘2022 a year of celebration’ for Royal Family | Royal | News (Reports)

Mr Rosindell told TalkRADIO’s Mike Graham that the Queen’s 70-year reign was “definitely something to celebrate in a big way.” The Conservative MP for Romford is part of the Parliamentary group organising celebrations to mark the Platinum Jubilee. He said that all organisations, not just Parliament, should be looking at how they can mark the event and make “2022 a great year.”  

“Next year we are going to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee which the 70th anniversary of the Queen acceding to the throne,” he added.

“She is the longest-serving monarch in history, I think she is the longest-serving Monarch anywhere and she is certainly the longest-serving British monarch.

“So 70 years is definitely going to be something to celebrate in a big way.”

“it certainly is,” said Mr Graham, who asked the MP what he hoped would happen to mark the milestone.

Mr Rosindell replied: “We have a very gloomy year and this year is going to be maybe better but still a bit gloomy let’s face it.

“We have gone through a pretty tough period so we hope 2022 is going to be a year of celebration.

“Not just because we get to celebrate the Queen but hopefully also because we are going to be out of this dark period.

“So I think all organisation, not just Parliament, but every organisation should think how we are going to make 2022 a great year

“We have set up a parliamentary group cross-party and we hope to roll out lots of activities and celebrations.

“But also to promote within our constituencies the importance of the monarchy, the importance of our constitution and also to celebrate the service of her majesty the Queen.”

“Frankly, if you look at what is going on in other countries, aren’t we glad that we have a monarch rather than a president?

“Someone who represents thousands of years of history and continuity and also is above politics and is not just another politician seeking votes.” 

The Queen will be marking the 70th year on the throne on June 2, 2022.

Kensington Palace shared a clip of the call on Twitter at the weekend with the caption: “Thank you to all the staff and volunteers across the country working to ensure that the most vulnerable in our society are protected from coronavirus.”
During the call, William said he was proud of the Queen and Philip for getting the vaccine.
