Princess Eugenie and husband James Brooksbank announced the upcoming arrival of their first child at the end of September. The youngest daughter of the Duke and Duchess of York is expected to give birth sometime in the early months of 2021. Royal commentator Marlene Koenig told Express.co.uk royal baby Brooksbank will not enjoy the same benefits of other royal babies and will slowly fall down the succession line.
Ms Koenig said: “The baby is going to have a very quiet normal, private life except for state occasions where they have big services and you’ll see people like Sarah Armstrong-Jones, her children and the Earl of St Andrew.
“This baby will be a great-grandchild of a sovereign, not even a grandchild of a sovereign, which is when you start falling out of the position of being a member of the Royal Family.
“There’s definitely going to be press attention because it’s Princess Eugenie and she’s having a baby. Another great-grandchild for the Queen but Jack is not getting a peerage so it’s only Baby Brooksbank.
“And the baby will be moving further and further down the succession line when William and Harry’s children grown up and have descendants of their own.”

She added: “And, of course, when Beatrice has a baby, that baby will be ahead of Eugenie’s.”
Ms Koenig also suggested Eugenie and Jack may opt-out of the traditions Sarah Ferguson and other members of the Royal Family have helped establish when it comes to a new royal baby.
From Princess Diana down to Kate Middleton, the newest additions to the succession lines have been introduced to the public with a short photo-op outside of the hospital.
Meghan Markle was the first royal in decades to choose a private photocall at Windsor Castle after giving birth in May 2019.

Little is known about the baby but speculation has already been rife about the name Eugenie and Jack could choose for their baby.
According to BetVictor the name Alice is the favourite for a baby girl while Arthur and Henry are tied in the boy’s name prediction.
The name Alice would be a touching tribute to Eugenie’s grandfather Prince Philip, whose mother was Princess Alice of Greece and Denmark.
Alice is best known for playing a pivotal role to help save Jewish families in Greece during World War 2.
Because of her work during the war, Princess Alice was granted the style of Righteous Among the Nations and was granted the honour of burial at the Church of Mary Magdalene, Gethsemane in Jerusalem.
