Prince Harry ‘in regular contact’ with the Queen says expert

Prince Harry is currently living in the US with his wife Meghan Markle and their 20-month-old son Archie. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been vocal critics of social media and have distanced themselves from online platforms for their new non-profit organisation Archewell.

Speaking in a Q&A session with US business magazine Fast Company, Harry highlighted “we are all vulnerable” to suffering abuse online and described it as a “humanitarian issue”.

The Duke has used his new foundation to conduct research into social media and has called for the industry to be re-modelled to help the kids of the future.

He said: “If we’ve learned anything, it’s that our dominant technologies were built to grow and grow and grow, without serious consideration for the ripple effect of that growth.

“We have to do more than simply reconsider this model. The stakes are too high, and time is running out.”

Harry added: “I lean on the experts to help give guidance on how to reform the state of our digital world – how we make it better for our kids, of course, but also for ourselves now.”

His call for change comes just months after the Duchess of Sussex gave an insight into her own experiences.

Speaking on the Teenage Therapy podcast in October, Meghan spoke about the “almost unsurvivable” abuse she suffered while she was pregnant and then became a mother in 2019.

The Duchess claimed during that period she was the “most trolled person in the entire world – male or female”.

9.50am update: Meghan Markle ‘was woke before she met Prince Harry’ – Royal Family doesn’t understand

Meghan Markle was “woke before she met Harry” and her life experiences were “different” to the Royal Family, an expert has claimed.

Royal author Sean Smith said: “The things she has believed in and advocate for have remained before, the role of education for women in poorer areas.

“You know, she went to the slums of Mumbai to support women working for a foundation there so that girls wouldn’t have to miss school when they had their periods.

“She was this woman before she met Prince Harry, there were no paparazzi with her in the past and I think it’s worth remembering that she was this woman before she met Harry.”

9.15am update: Princess Eugenie snubbed by Queen as ‘baby will not receive royal title’, expert claims

Princess Eugenie is expecting her first child with her husband Jack Brooksbank but the new arrival will not be offered a royal title by the Queen, an expert has claimed.

Princess Eugenie, 30, and her husband Jack Brooksbank, 34, announced they are expecting a baby just a few weeks before their second wedding anniversary.

Royal expert Marlene Koenig said the baby will not receive a title because Eugenie is not a working royal.

Asked whether Eugenie’s baby will receive a royal title, Ms Koenig told Express.co.uk: “Not at all.

“First of all, she’s not a working royal.

“Look at the precedence; with the exception of Prince Philip because he was married to the Queen.

“Anthony Armstrong James was not created Earl of Snowden until six weeks before Margaret gave birth to their son.”

8.30am update: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Royal Family review must end in couple stripped of titles

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry must be stripped of their Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles when the Royal Family conduct a review of Megxit, according to the CEO of Republic.

Graham Smith said: “Harry and Meghan should have done the right thing when they first left the Royal Family which was to renounce their titles and immediately renounce any claim on any public expenditure whatsoever.

“So this review needs to confirm that is going to happen.

“Anything short of that or any compromise where they can have their cake and eat it is not going to be good for the UK at all.”

7.55am update: Stepping into US politics could ‘suffocate’ Sussex brand and income

Meghan Markle has been warned stepping into politics could have an impact on the brand and revenue stream she is building with Prince Harry.

Speculation around Meghan’s interest in politics flared last summer, after she openly spoke about voting rights, voter registration in the US and the November election.

While a brand and reputation management expert believes it could be possible for the Duchess of Sussex to step into the political arena he warned this move could hurt Archewell’s audience potential and Meghan and Harry’s revenue.
