The Duke of Cambridge “does not know” what Meghan has told the US talk show host, according to a source. The insider added that the former actress speaking to Winfrey “will not help matters” between brothers William and Harry, who have faced ongoing rumours of a rift.

The royal source told the Mail on Sunday: “Harry and William have not spoken for some time, and Meghan speaking about their relationship or relationships with the Royal Family to Oprah will not help matters.

“Things are still bad between them, although both want to repair that brotherly bond.

“William does not know what she has told Oprah, none of the Royal Family do.

“They will find out at the same time as everyone else, although I doubt they’ll watch it.”

Meghan’s interview with Winfrey airs next Sunday on US television network CBS.

The ex-Suits star will be joined by the Queen’s grandson for part of the interview.

CBS said: “Winfrey will speak with Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, in a wide-ranging interview, covering everything from stepping into life as a royal, marriage, motherhood, philanthropic work to how she is handling life under intense public pressure.

“Later, the two are joined by Prince Harry as they speak about their move to the United States and their future hopes and dreams for their expanding family.”

It comes after Harry opened up about Megxit to TV host James Cordon during an appearance on The Late Late Show.

7.35am update: William joins grandmother to condemn ‘false info’ and declares ‘get your vaccine’

Prince William has warned people not to listen to social media “rumours and misinformation” about Covid jabs.

Speaking out during a video call, the Duke of Cambridge told clinically vulnerable people and their families that he and Kate “wholeheartedly support having vaccinations”.

William’s comments are part of an effort by senior members of the Royal Family to boost public confidence in the vaccine and to increase take-up of the jab.

Efforts were led by the Queen who, in a rare intervention during a call to health leaders last week, urged vaccine waverers to “think about other people rather than themselves”.

7.30am update: Anne ‘tremendous’ support to the Queen after three blows

Princess Anne is a “tremendous” support to the Queen after she has lost three senior members of the Firm, according to a royal expert.

Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams pointed out that the monarch is down three members of monarchy with Meghan Markle, Prince Harry and Prince Andrew ending duties.

Mr Fitzwilliams told Express.co.uk: “One has to remember the Royal Family hasn’t got many senior working royals at the moment.

“It has lost three for various reason. So she’s a terrific support.”
