Emergency crews were called to Thornliebank Station, in East Renfrewshire, near Glasgow, after commuters were warned that the station was closed at 6.25am. However, services are now said to be running again.

ScotRail said earlier on Twitter: “Due to the police dealing with an incident between Glasgow Central and East Kilbride our services between Glasgow Central and East Kilbride will be running non-stop between Pollokshaws West and Giffnock.

“Thornliebank will not be served.”

Glasgow Live reported emergency services arrived on the scene at around 1am this morning.

A police helicopter was also said to be seen around that time.

The cause of the incident is not yet known.
