Sophie, 56, is a St John Ambulance care volunteer and completed her first shift at a centre in south-west London on Friday. Royal expert Dickie Arbiter praised Prince Edward’s wife for her work.
Taking to Twitter, Mr Arbiter said: “How well #SophieWessex, Grand President @stjohnsambulance, gets on with the job. No fuss, no fanfare, just a commitment.”
Many other Twitter users were quick to agree with the royal expert’s praise of the Countess, who is the Grand President of St John Ambulance.
One wrote: “Yes sir! I love Sophie.”
Another commented: “Just thinking the same.”
A third added: “THAT is service, THAT is duty.”
Another Twitter user commented: “Ahh way to go, Your Royal Highness!!! Thank you for doing this! You are amazing.”
A fifth said: “Her Royal Highness, Countess Sophie, we love her very much, she works hard, is committed, she is a great role model. I thank her and all volunteers.”
One more added: “Such a great example of how to do being a Royal.”

St John Ambulance is working with NHS partners across England and expects to train around 30,000 vaccination volunteers by the spring.
Speaking last month, royal author Angela Levin said Sophie will take on a more prominent royal role in the wake of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s departure.
She claimed the Earl and Countess of Wessex “feel they have been left out a bit” in the past.
The royal biographer told Express.co.uk: “I’m sure that the Earl and Countess of Wessex will step up. They have done recently anyway since Harry and Meghan have gone.
“They are very keen to do things, I think they feel they have been left out a bit and now is a chance.
“The Countess of course is an incredibly hard worker, very good with people and the Queen adores her.
“They live very near the Queen in Windsor and they often went to church on Sunday before the lockdown.
“And she learnt to ride so she could ride with Her Majesty.”
