Emergency services were spotted rushing to Wharf Road in St Ives following a blaze.
Thick plumes of smoke were seen gushing into the skyline.
Witnesses took to social media, with a video showing the smoke rocketing into the air.
One wrote: “Incident in St Ives, Wharf Road is full with the emergency services after fire/explosion in a restaurant.
“So warn people not to drive into town at the moment. #Cornwall”.
