Thirty-two men face court in child sex abuse probe in West Yorkshire | UK | News (Reports)

Charges against the men, aged between 31 and 50, cover more than 150 alleged offences in West Yorkshire involving girls aged 13 to 16. They include rape, trafficking, false imprisonment, threats to kill, making an indecent photo of a child, possession of extreme pornographic images, and supplying drugs.

The suspects, who are predominantly British Asian men of Pakistani descent, are alleged to have committed offences against the girls between 1999 and 2012.

The alleged offending took place in parts of Kirklees, Bradford and Wakefield.

The suspects were arrested as part of Operation Tourway, an investigation into historic child sexual exploitation in the county, and they are due to appear at Kirklees magistrates court on December 11 and 14.

A police spokesman said: “Thirty-two men have been charged with a variety of offences as part of Operation Tourway, an investigation into non-recent child sexual exploitation in parts of West Yorkshire.

“The allegations against the defendants involve offences committed against eight female victims. Some of the victims were also subjected to offences when young adults.”

Among those charged are Asif Ali, 50, from Batley, who faces 12 rape offences, two counts of inciting sexual activity with a child, supplying class B drugs, trafficking, aiding and abetting rape, assisting in the commission of an indictable offence, making an indecent photograph of a child and possession of extreme pornographic images.

Amer Ali Hussain, 42, also from Batley, is charged with two rapes, while Nazam Hussain, 43, of Dewsbury, faces four rape offences.

Zafar Qayum, 41, from Dewsbury, is charged with 17 rape offences and multiple gross indecency and indecent assault offences.

Jabbar Qayum, 39, from Dewsbury, faces six rape offences and two counts of aiding and abetting two rapes.

Ansar Mahmood Qayum, 43, from Dewsbury, is charged with 13 rape offences, two attempted indecent assaults and two counts of aiding and abetting rape.

Mohammed Tauseef Hanif, 36, also from Dewsbury, is charged with four rape offences while Amran Mehrban, 37, from Batley, is charged with two rape offences, false imprisonment and one sexual assault.
