Tees Valley

Tees Valley residents entered Tier 2 lockdown relatively recently, but case growth has not yet completely levelled.

Officials recorded a slight increase of just under 40 from 278.4 to 314.1 cases per 100,000 in the last week, and the Government has not yet committed to introducing a Tier 3 measures.

Local council leader Mary Lanigan welcomed the Government’s decision, but added: “We need more time to show that these restrictions are working.”
