The increase in deaths now takes the UK’s overall total to 101,887 within 28 days of a positive test, while the record number was 1,820 deaths registered on January 20.
On Tuesday, the UK reported 1,631 deaths as the country continues its fight with the contagion.
As of 9am this morning the Government also confirmed there had been a further 25,308 cases.
The UK’s case total has now risen to 3,715,054 while hospitalizations rose by 3,082.
