Appearing True Royalty TV’s weekly programme The Royal Beat, Paul Burrell, the former butler of Princess Diana, said she would have urged Prince William and Prince Harry to leave their differences aside and end the royal feud that has been growing between the two brothers since Harry married Meghan Markle.

Speaking about the relationship between Prince William and Prince Harry, Burrell said: “If their mother was here today, she would bring them back together.

“She would bang their heads together and say: ‘Don’t be so silly you’re my sons, you’re both equal’.

“It was very important to her that they stayed close.”

The royal brothers’ relationship has reportedly become strained in recent years as they head down different routes in life.

Harry even admitted during a trip to South Africa last year that they were “on different paths at the moment”.

This was shortly before the Duke of Sussex made the bombshell announcement he was stepping down from his role as a senior member of the Royal Family with wife Meghan Markle.

The Telegraph’s Associate Editor Camilla Tominey claimed William may have been “impacted personally” by Harry’s new life away from the Royal Family, as it means the future King’s younger brother can no longer help with duties.

He recently opened up about his concerns for the future of the planet, which echoed his father Charles’ own sentiments on climate change.

Speaking in the ITV documentary, Prince William: A Planet For Us All, he said: “‘My grandfather, my father, have been in environmental work for many years.

“My grandfather’s well ahead of his time. My father, ahead of his time.

“And I really want to make sure that, in 20 years, George doesn’t turn round and say, ‘are you ahead of your time?’ Because if he does, we’re too late.”
