Zara Tindall and Mike joking about baby names says expert

Zara and Mike Tindall are expecting their third child, who is likely to be the Queen’s tenth great-grandchild. Her royal cousin Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle have just announced that they are expecting another child as well, although neither baby’s due date is known. The two couples are said to be close, especially as both tend to boycott royal traditions.

However, Zara claimed that she was very uncomfortable during the Sussexes’ wedding almost three years ago, after several photographs of her looking miserable in St George’s Chapel emerged.

She explained that her unborn child had been “kicking the hell out of her” for an hour.

She said: “I was uncomfortable! My bum sort of slid over either side and Lena kicked the hell out of me for an hour.

“It just wasn’t comfy at all and it probably showed on my face.”

Bishop Michael Curry’s speech at the Sussexes’ wedding ceremony lasted 13 minutes — which led to Zara being caught on camera looking astonished and confused.

During an interview with The Telegraph, she explained: “It was just the general amount of time everything was taking.

“I think my face was probably caught at the point when I thought: ‘Right, he’s going to finish now,’ and then he went off on another little story, and it was like, ‘Really?’”

Zara was eight and half months pregnant with her second child, named Lena, when Meghan and Harry tied the knot.

Lipreaders also claimed the Queen’s granddaughter turned to her husband during the lavish ceremony and whispered: “I need the toilet.”

Zara’s husband has hinted that she is finding being pregnant much easier this time around in lockdown.

Mike told The Times: “It’s been really low-key.

“She doesn’t have to go outside or worry about what to wear; you’re not going to events so from Zara’s side it’s been a lot easier than normal.

“Obviously it’s easier if the kids are going to school.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have also recognised that lockdown has changed their approach to parenting with their one-year-old son Archie.

Speaking from their new California home for Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Virtual Summit, Meghan said: “For me it’s been amazing to spend time with my husband and watch our little one grow and that’s where our attention has been.”

The absence of public appearances meant both women were able to announce their pregnancies in their own time, without public speculation.

Mike announced Zara’s pregnancy on his podcast, ‘The Good, The Bad & The Rugby’, back in December, while the Sussexes’ spokesperson confirmed Meghan was expecting over the weekend.

The Sussexes also marked the occasion by releasing a black and white photograph of the two of them relaxing together in the garden on Twitter.

Zara and Meghan — both 39 — have also been praised by royal fans for breaking the stigma around miscarriage, by previously opening up about their devastating miscarriages.

Some also speculate that Mike and Zara may have influenced Meghan and Harry’s decision to leave the royal frontline last year.

Zara was never granted a royal title because her mother Princess Anne wanted her to live a more normal life away from the pressures of the Royal Family.

This is, in a way, what Meghan and Harry were hoping to achieve when they broke rank from the Firm last year.

However, Mike told day Times that belonging to the Royal Family is “something you just get used to” and laughed at the prospect that he and his wife might be trailblazers for the Sussexes’ royal departure.

He said: “You think about what you do and you have to be aware of it but it doesn’t necessarily dictate.

“Zara and I have always been good at getting on with what’s right for us.”

The couple have two daughters already, Lena and Mia, but reportedly do not know the sex of their third child.

The Tindalls and Sussexes are not the only ones who are welcoming new additions to the family this year.

Zara and Harry’s cousin Princess Eugenie gave birth to a baby boy with her husband Jack Brooksbank earlier this month, although a name is yet to be announced.

There are even reports that Kate, Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William, may be trying for their fourth child — although both have dismissed such claims in the past.
