Refining Duty and Punctuality
COPENHAGEN | 3 November 2020: KLINGERT Watches is excited to announce the unveiling of their latest watch – The Guardsman’s Watch K2. This high end limited-edition watch has been specially developed in close collaboration with the historic Royal Danish Life Guards and follows the success of the first edition which sold out in just over 12 months!
Watch designers and military professionals have combined their expertise to create this tactical timepiece that’s equipped with multiple military timing elements. These elements directly relate to the history and guard duties of the Royal Life Guards. Unique features include the active shift and stationary indicators reflecting the 24 hour schedule of the guardsman as well as a military hacking function. In addition to features that indicate precise punctuality to timing, the watch is also a tough military field watch durable enough to withstand the most extreme conditions. The watch has successfully gone through the notorious “Rextur” – a 4 day gruelling military operation testing man and equipment to the limit.
It’s a wristwatch that boasts full military approval and consent to use the regimental cap badge – wow!
“We are delighted to launch The Guardsman’s Watch K2 following on directly from the successful sell-out of our first watch.”
– Jacob Klingert Jacobsen, founder of Klingert Watches
The Guardsman’s Watch K2 has been updated and refined following feedback from on-duty Life Guards to provide a timeless, classic, and functional timepiece with key features that now include:
- A Swiss Quartz movement with a 10-year battery time
- Increased bezel size by 1mm for better grip – now 43mm
- An angled inner ring featuring minute markings
- A slimmer case-design for more ergonomic wear and comfort
- Available in Matt Black (which is fully DLC coated) and Steel (which has an exposed sandblasted steel case and a DLC coated bezel).
- Water resistant to 300m / 1000 ft
To keep up with the trends, this tactile timepiece comes standard with a leather-bound nylon fitted strap which can be switched with black, green, and regiment-coloured nato straps.
Interesting to note:
“Jacob Klingert, the designer of the The Guardsman’s Watch K2, has a notable family history and is directly related to famous German mechanic and inventor, Karl Heinrich Klingert, the creator of the first diving suit and the world’s first electric clock.”
The Guardsman’s Watch K2 honours the rich 362-year history of the Royal Life Guards. It is a durably designed watch to perform without fail both as a timepiece and a field watch.
This is a timepiece that has become invaluable to many guards who loyally service royal palaces. It is, therefore, more than just a watch – it’s a tool that supports age-old traditions while moving us safely towards the future.
