Floyd Mayweather takes on YouTuber Logan Paul in a lucrative boxing match in Florida on Sunday night.

This divisive bout was originally due to take place in February, only to be postponed as the result of coronavirus restrictions.

It is six years since Mayweather called time on his illustrious and undefeated boxing career, but the former five-weight, 12-time world champion was later tempted back for a money-spinning crossover clash with UFC superstar Conor McGregor and an emphatic win over Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa.

Now he’s been enticed back into the sport once more by an eight-round showdown with Paul, a famous YouTuber, internet personality, actor and podcaster who, along with younger brother Jake, has taken up professional boxing.

But unlike his brother, who has amassed three straight wins in impressive fashion, Logan’s only pro bout to date came with the six-round rematch of his draw with fellow YouTube star KSI, which he lost via split decision in Los Angeles in November 2019.

Sunday’s pay-per-view clash won’t be short on global interest, though it is another event that will surely frustrate the majority of boxing purists.

Mayweather vs Logan Paul fight card/undercard in full

Former two-weight world champion Badou Jack was due to face Jean Pascal in a rematch of their December 2019 title bout as the chief support act on Sunday, but Pascal has now been replaced by Venezuela’s Dervin Colina.

Elsewhere on the four-fight main card, former unified super-welterweight world champion Jarrett Hurd takes on Luis Arias and former star NFL wide receiver Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson battles boxer, ex-MMA artist and bare knuckle fighter Brian Maxwell in another exhibition contest.

Mayweather vs Logan Paul date, start time, venue and ring walks
Floyd Mayweather vs Logan Paul takes place in front of fans on Sunday, June 6, 2021 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida – home of the NFL’s Miami Dolphins.

It will be a late night for British fight fans, with the card not beginning until midnight BST.

The main event ring walks are not expected until around 4am on Sunday morning, though that will obviously depend on the length of the undercard bouts and indeed whatever other entertainment is planned for the show outside of boxing matches.

Mayweather vs Logan Paul rules

Fans weren’t happy earlier this week amid reports that there will be no official winner declared after the exhibition bout, which is not sanctioned by the Florida State Boxing Commission.

ESPN’s Marc Raimondi reported that there would also be no judges at ringside, but that knockouts will be legal and up to the referee’s discretion.

The fight will consist of eight three-minute rounds, with both men – after a late rule change – wearing 10oz gloves rather than 12oz and no headgear.

Mayweather vs Logan Paul purse

Reports suggest that Logan Paul will bank around $20million from the fight – not bad for a night’s work!

That pales in comparison to Mayweather though, who could supposedly earn up to a total of $100m depending on the number of box office sales.

Mayweather vs Logan Paul fight prediction

It’s hard to predict a fight that likely won’t have an official winner.

Unless Mayweather decides to make a mockery of the whole thing by securing an emphatic early knockout, we seem set for another truly bizarre occasion that leaves you wondering what exactly the point of it all was, money aside.

Paul, 18 years younger than his opponent, is obviously the much taller and heavier man, as you are reminded every time they face off, but does not possess even a fraction of the skill of even a 44-year-old Mayweather.

There will no doubt then be talk of a fight down the line against Jake Paul, who boxes another MMA man in former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley in August after his respective destructions of Ben Askren, ex-NBA player Nate Robinson and fellow YouTube star AnEsonGib.

The younger Paul sibling created dramatic scenes at a pre-fight press conference last month when he stole Mayweather’s cap off his head. A brawl then quickly ensued, with Jake quickly feeling the wrath of Mayweather’s bodyguard.

Mayweather vs Logan Paul odds
Mayweather to win via KO/TKO: 1/6

Logan Paul to win via KO/TKO: 7/2

I fully expect ‘Money’ to float around the ring and dole out punishment at will, ending it whenever he feels like it – let’s say in round four.
