Just hours after 25 to 29 year olds across England were made eligible to be booking their Covid vaccine, an apparent glitch on the NHS wesbite is preventing everyone from doing so.
As of this morning, after the Health Secretary Matt Hancock who spoke yesterday, 25 to 29 year olds were to be allowed to book their first vaccine jab after months of waiting.
But many in the new eligible age group eager to book their jab were met with a message saying the complete opposite.
Thousands have been left confused from the apparent mix up after being told ‘you’re not eligible’ which happens after putting in all their details.
However, others have been met with a message saying they are now in a queue of over 10,000 people.
A screengrab on Sky News this morning shows one of the messages telling people they are 10,553rd in the queue.
It reads: “You are in a queue. Lots of people are trying to book an appointment. You are number 10553 in the queue. Your estimated wait time is about 10 minutes.”
Others though have received messages saying they are not eligible despite being in the new age group confirmed by the Health Secretary yesterday.
He said: “From this week we will start offering vaccinations to people under 30, bringing us ever closer to the goal of offering a vaccine to all adults in the UK by the end of next month.
“From tomorrow morning, we will open up vaccination to people aged 25 to 29.”
